Hi, I’m Tyler. I’m a mechanical engineer, writer, and maker. I live an incredibly rich and free life on my own terms for roughly $15k/yr.
I didn’t always live this way. I was on the struggle bus for a long time. It wasn’t until about 2020 that I really turned things around. I wish someone had sat me down and explained to me some of the things I now know.
This website is me explaining as best I can what I now know, and documenting where I’m going from here. Welcome.
Several crises, actually, interacting in complex and chaotic ways. Climate destabilization, resource over-exploitation, overshoot, political instability, economic inequality, etc.
If you refuse the lies and play a different game you can unlock uncommon levels of personal freedom, resilience, and the capacity to pursue your own vision of the good life.
Like mycelium, like ecosystems, from the ground up and from the sides, we can build the worlds we want to live in.
I spent my career trying to solve the crises. I didn’t get very far. I beat my head against the wall.
Then I spent a half decade getting my own house in order: unlocking freedom, ruggedizing my personal life, and building relevant skills.
Now I’m all about joining forces with others and working on the worlds I want to live in.
